Introducing Caden Ramsay Hanson Bacher (by kelli)

Caden yawnWe finally were able to welcome Caden to the world on our one year wedding anniversary! What a present! Caden was born at 7:51pm on 7/1/07. He weighed 7lbs, 5 oz, and measured 22.5 inches long. (Although we are not sure that length is correct, as we measured him at about 21.5 inches long when we got home).

We went in on Saturday morning to be induced, as Caden was just planning on staying put. After hours of waiting and some slight discomfort, my water broke at 4am on Sunday morning. The contractions were then stronger, but the day was still long, as we waited for my body to prove it was ready for Caden’s birth.

Eventually, Caden was born via c-section because the MDs could tell he was in distress with a lower heart rate during contractions and pushes. It turns out the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, like a harness holding him in. We are so glad he is okay! I am also healing fairly quickly, with the help of some pain meds of course. We are working on breast feeding and trying to get some sleep here & there!

We are so in love with him! We look forward to introducing him in person to you!

Congratulations to all THREE of you! May your sweet baby be a good eater and a good sleeper! Good luck from Claire’s high school friend Katy, the one who lives in Germany.
