First Bath in a Tub (by kelli)
Caden’s umbilical cord stump fell off this morning, so we were able to graduate from sponge baths to a baby bathtub bath today! He wasn’t too pleased with this, but we are sure eventually bathtime will be rubber ducky fun!
Visitors are welcome! (by kelli)
Caden is thoroughly enjoying meeting so many friends and family. He especially had fun meeting kids for the 1st time ever. The Anderson’s came over today and were able to witness the crying, the consoling, and luckily some calm-alert Caden time.
Stroller walks! (by kelli)
We are having fun exploring the neighborhood (despite the hills and Kelli’s need to walk slow). Caden likes the fresh air, unless he’s hungry…. we had to stop mid-walk one day to feed him while Grandma stood guard watching for cars/ gawkers.
Three Generations x2 (by dave)
When Grandpa Andy visited, we caught a picture of three generations of Bachers:
This reminded me of an older picture (circa 1996) of three generations of Bachers:
Also, you might not be able to make it out in that top picture, but Caden’s little baseball shirt says, “daddy’s team.”
And still more photos (by dave)
Be sure to see our gallery for many more photos. We’ve posted lots of photos of Caden surrounded by his adoring family and friends in:

Introducing Caden Ramsay Hanson Bacher (by kelli)
We finally were able to welcome Caden to the world on our one year wedding anniversary! What a present! Caden was born at 7:51pm on 7/1/07. He weighed 7lbs, 5 oz, and measured 22.5 inches long. (Although we are not sure that length is correct, as we measured him at about 21.5 inches long when we got home).
We went in on Saturday morning to be induced, as Caden was just planning on staying put. After hours of waiting and some slight discomfort, my water broke at 4am on Sunday morning. The contractions were then stronger, but the day was still long, as we waited for my body to prove it was ready for Caden’s birth.
Eventually, Caden was born via c-section because the MDs could tell he was in distress with a lower heart rate during contractions and pushes. It turns out the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, like a harness holding him in. We are so glad he is okay! I am also healing fairly quickly, with the help of some pain meds of course. We are working on breast feeding and trying to get some sleep here & there!
We are so in love with him! We look forward to introducing him in person to you!
